Based in Sydney, Australia, Brett is a Professional Photographer who specialises in Advertising, Sport and Lifestyle photography.
His career officially started in 2005, but the path that led him here isn’t your typical journey. Brett studied photography throughout high school and spent his teenage years toying with cameras while skateboarding with friends. The thought of making photography a career had never really dawned on him until, a fateful day where an 18-year-old Brett won $2417.00 on a $2 spin on the pokies.
Somehow, he didn’t spend his winnings at the Bar. Instead, he chose to save it and used it to purchase his first Digital SLR, to compliment his studies in Graphic Design. Not long after getting the camera, Brett’s career path shifted as his interests turned towards photography. Within a year, he had his first published photo in a wakeboarding magazine and he started working full-time as a photography assistant in one of Sydney’s leading photographic studios. He was hooked.
Looking for a wider range of experiences, he spent the following years assisting on large-scale advertising shoots to build his lighting knowledge, while continuing with his love of shooting extreme sports, off-road adventures and sports photography. He has covered every major sporting code in Australia, had roles as a Senior Photographer across multiple editorial magazines, shot over 50 cover images, been a part of global photography teams, managed photography teams and worked solo to deliver his client’s needs.
Brett now uses his 17 years of industry experience to work on projects large and small, across the advertising, lifestyle and sports sectors. Thriving under pressure, while staying honest and easy to work with. He is a versatile photographer who is just as comfortable working with detailed lighting setups in a studio as he is getting his boots dirty while working on location.
Brett quickly builds a relaxed relationship with his subjects to keep them honest and authentic when they are in front of his lens. His photographic style produces images that look polished, while staying true to their environment with a natural look.

The Finke Desert Race has been on my bucket list for a long time now. The iconic Australian race travels over 400 kilometres through the outback between Alice Springs and Finke. Taking 2 days to complete, the race is a dusty, gruelling trip for the competitors. It attracts huge numbers of competitors and spectators, with over 600 bikes alone competing in 2018.
Toby Price, a previous 5 time winner of The Finke in the bike division, is attempting to win both the bike and car division outright in 2018. Something that has never been achieved before. The team arrived in Alice Springs a week prior to the event weekend for testing. The vehicles were meticulously looked over and prepared before being put on display, along with Toby at a night festival to kick the event off.

I was commissioned by Toby Price Motorsport to document his 2019 Finke Desert race campaign. Leaving the bike at home this year, Toby decided to focus on winning the Trophy truck category following his DNF in 2018 after mechanical failure on day 2.
The crew arrived hungrier than ever for the win, with the car meticulously prepared and ready to race. Toby qualified first and lead a commanding lead of over 9 minutes after finishing the first day of racing.
The crew camped overnight and prepared the truck in the harsh conditions of the desert for the return race back on day 2.
Toby maintained his commanding lead as the race began on day 2 and the writing was on the wall for Toby’s first Trophy Truck win at The Finke. Disaster struck halfway through the race when Toby pulled off to the side of the track, again suffering a mechanical issue which took him out of the race for 2019. A devastated Toby returned back to base.
